Welcome
Greenpatch Rabbit Stud started out as one pet rabbit; that one pet rabbit turned into a passionate hobby that enriched our lives. We now specialize in breeding and exhibiting good quality and friendly rabbits. We currently breed the following variety of breeds:
Mini Lop, Dutch, Tan, Smoke Pearl & Mini Rex.
We pride ourselves on breeding rabbits with excellent temperaments for children. We often have pet rabbits
For Sale at our rabbitry. Many of our rabbits sold live happy lives with their new owners throughout Sydney and Australia.
We can freight rabbits throughout NSW and interstate via direct flights to Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia, and Northern Territory.
Greenpatch is proud to be registered breeder & exhibitor. All our rabbits are happily kept
in humane conditions and have friendly and inquisitive personalities.
We regularly show our rabbits and are committed to the future of the Purebred Rabbit in Australia. If you would like to know more about purebred rabbits we invite you to visit your local rabbit show.
Greenpatch exhibits with the following rabbit clubs:
Rabbit Fanciers Society of NSW,
Rabbit Breeders Association of NSW,
Rabbit Exhibitors and Breeders Society of NSW, & Canberra Rabbit Club
Greenpatch Rabbit Stud is located in the beautiful Lower Blue Mountains in the town Springwood, just West of Sydney. In Australia, rabbits today are becoming more popular as pets. They are ideally suited to our modern city lifestyles, fitting into ever smaller backyards. Add to this a purebred rabbits intelligence, temperament, and personality and you have a winning combination for a great pet.
In respects to intelligence Rabbits have been found to be just as smart as dogs and cats. Rabbits, like cats, can easily be litter trained within the home with only a little training. With some dedicated training a rabbit can also perform tricks and compete in competitions such as Rabbit Show Jumping, a fun activity for rabbit and handler alike.
Every rabbit has his or her own personality, making every rabbit an individual. A rabbits temperament will ultimately come down to how much attention you give your rabbit. All rabbits enjoy having attention lavished upon them, the more time you spend bonding with them the better pet you will have. A rabbit who adores you will let you know with a thump, a jump and if your lucky a lick. If they fell you need to lavish some more upon them, they will let you know nudge for more pats. The first few months after been separated from their mother is a vital bonding time for you and a baby rabbit, so it is best to spend as much time with them at this age. Don't underestimate the power of bribery, a few little pieces of carrot will get you in your rabbits good books.
